Goat and Candle originated in January, 1999 as a monthly newsletter distributed in
metaphysical shops throughout the State of Indiana and to subscribers. It was the
brain-child of Frater S.P.R.V. and Quill, who envisioned it as a resource for those
interested in earth religions.
The Goat and Candle website came on line in December, 1999. On these pages, web-readers have access to the wide variety of articles previously printed in Goat and Candle's hard copy edition, though printing of those ended with the December, 2003 issue. The February and April, 2004 issued were published solely on-line, after which production ceased, due to the death of Frater S.P.R.V. Archives of many Goat and Candle articles can be found by clicking on the "Past Issues" link below.
Goat and Candle initiated a monthly Pagan Night Out at various locations in South Bend, where Pagans can meet, eat and network with others in an informal setting, which lasted until the Frater's death in March, 2004.
